NERO D'AVOLA The most popular red grape Sicilian wine Sometimes it is vinified with Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah.
PRODUCTION SITES: Nero d'Avola is being produced in the whole Sicily and particularly in the areas of Eloro, Pachino and Noto; in the province of Siracusa and in the plain near Gela.
COLOUR: It boasts a ruby red colour, bright and attractive with pleasant violet shadings.
AROMA: Its intense and persistent bouquet is a reminder of the sunny and warm Sicilian springs.
TASTE: At taste it reveals its best features disclosing deep, soft and mellow undertones.
PAIRINGS: It is the perfect paired very tasty dishes, grilled red meats and game.
GRADATION: 13.5°
SERVING TEMPERATURE: Serve in a decanter at room temperature (20°C - 68 °F).
GLASS: We recommend using a broad glass in order to allow the wine to oxygenate.
AGEING: Nero D'Avola can be drank after a 10 years aging if well preserved.
EVENTS: “Di cotte e di crude” from July to August in Melilli (Siracusa) you will experience a Festival made of the typical Sicilian perfumes, colours and tastes! “Mandorlo in Fiore” in February in Agrigento a whole event dedicated to almonds and all they ways they can be cooked. The dishes are then accompanied by great Nero d'Avola wines. |
