LOMBARDY

It is the richest regions in Italy and its beautiful cities and the business generated by the daily fairs, the fashion weeks in Milan, the high finance and the big companies in the provinces of Brescia and Bergamo make of it one of the most economically active places in the world.
But not only is Lombardy an economy neuralgic center but its population strongly and firmly keep their agricultural tradition with its dialects and its customs.
Lombardy offers a variety of things to do thanks to the presence of the major Italian lakes (Garda lake, Como lake, Maggiore lake, Iseo lake) and almost 50 between small and large lake, mountains and beautiful hills where the vineyards produce some of the best Italian wines such as Lugana, Franciacorta, Bonarda and Frecciarossa.

Milan is the region capital; the other main cities in Lombardy are: Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Cremona, Lecco, Lodi, Mantua, Monza, Pavia, Varese, Sondrio.

ART & CULTURE

The extraordinary wall painting left by the camuna civilization, the archaeological rests of the roman ages, the Romanesque architecture of which Lombardy is the cradle, the thousands of churches of different ages and splendor confirm this region as the fulcrum of the European culture and art.
Magnificent examples can be found in each major city; the most important monument of the Gothis period is the well known Cathedral of Milan while excellent examples of the Baroque art are the San Vittore basilica in Varese and the St. Maria Maggiore Basilica in Bergamo.
